Application & processing
Step-by-step protocol to correctly apply ACRATON® Dolphin to concrete pool shells.
1 · Substrate preparation
Fine grit-blast to remove old coatings and laitance. If blasting is not possible: pre-treat by etching. Rinse with clean tap water and dry thoroughly. Repair concrete with epoxy repair mortar.
2 · Mixing
Mixing ratio 75 : 25 (volume) or 80 : 20 (weight) base on hardener 2V59. Mix mechanically to a homogeneous mass. Respect the pot life — approx. 2 hours at 20 °C.
3 · Application — roller
Apply with a short-pile, non-shedding 2K nylon roller. Thinner 0 – 5 % with FGM 631 or WTD 107.
3b · Application — airless
Nozzle 0.53 – 0.66 mm at 150 – 200 bar. Thinner 5 – 10 % with FGM 631 or WTD 107.
4 · Second coat & cure
Recoat after the minimum interval. Total dry film: 300 µm in 2 coats. For underwater service wait for full cure (see datasheet).
Safety: base component flash point > 25 °C; hardener 2V59 > 99 °C. Thinners FGM 631 (26 °C) and WTD 107 (14 °C) are flammable. Always work in well-ventilated areas and use appropriate PPE.
